You have two options:
- Save the file(s) to your SD card and import the file using the Import option
on the main screen. Geodroid can also import an entire directory at once.
- Email yourself the file and use the Android browser to visit gmail.com and download
them.
NOTE: Currently you can not use the Gmail app to download GPX or LOC files from your inbox.
You can not use the Android browser (or any browser on the Android
OS afaik) to download files directly from geocaching.com. It will appear
to download the file, but it contains the wrong data. This is a bug in the
Android Browser app.
Please email me a copy of the file you are having problems with. Groundspeak GPX, GPX file waypoint data, and LOC files are supported.
The type of compass used in smartphones fall easily out of calibration. To recalibrate, wave your device in a figure 8 pattern several times. In severe cases, it my take several attempts to recalibrate and some time between attempts. To avoid throwing your compass out of wack, don't place your phone near anything emitting a strong magnetic field. (Personally, resting my phone against my laptop causes tremendous problems)
This question pops up a lot. Many other apps will often locate you faster because they don't require an accurate fix on your location. Geodroid needs a fairly accurate GPS fix to function well and it will often wait until it gets a good fix before performing certain tasks.
A recent update uses a new library for converting GPS coordinates. Accuracy is to a minimum of six significant digits in Degree Decimal format.
